COOiNDA general rules for campers.

  • The facilities and equipment are provided by 'COOiNDA' for the benefit of the user group. It must be the objective of all individuals to maintain them in good order.

  • It is the responsibility of the group leader to ensure that campers understand and follow the General Rules for Campers.

  • Each group must have a competent leader (Group Leader) in charge to Liaise with the Campsite Management. The Group Leader is responsible for camp supervision at all times.

  • 'COOiNDA' recommends a ratio of one leader to ten campers.

  • Campsite management takes responsibility for demonstration of activities only.

Arrival

  • All campers to immediately enter building on arrival and not explore outside before Safety Briefing due to hazards of the camp e.g., pond by car park, etc. which will become greater at night.

  • The campsite management needs to address the campers as soon as possible after arrival. It is the the responsibility of the Group Leader to assemble the campers at a mutually acceptable time to do the safety briefing.

  • If group dynamics do not permit a single assembled Safety Briefing then it is the responsibility of the Group leader to convey the Safety Briefing to the campers according to the Campsite Managers directions.

Duties

  • The camp is to be maintained in a clean state by campers.

  • Campers are to provide duty groups to set and clear tables at meal times.

  • Other duties will be specified by Campsite Management.

First Aid

  • First Aid is the sole responsibility of the user group and they must provide their own first aid equipment and trained staff.

  • All accidents, no matter how small must be reported to the Campsite Management.

  • Each camper is to have   medical history and family contact information. Campers under 18 to have signed consent forms.

Emergency Procedures

  • The Emergency procedure is posted on the notice board in the recreation room. The COOiNDA Emergency Management Plan is located in the cupboard below the telephone in the kitchen.

  • A full list of campers should be supplied in case of emergency.

  • Fire extinguishers, smoke detectors and a fire blanket are vital to safety and are located around the building. These should not be tampered with.

  • Campfires to be lit only in campfire site and only with the permission of Campsite Management.

Property

  • All breakage's and losses to be reported to the Campsite Management. They may be charged to the final account if Campsite Management deems it appropriate.

  • Cooinda takes no responsibility for loss or damage to personal property.

  • All vehicle parking is a strictly at owners own risk and only in areas as directed.

  • No illegal drugs to be brought onto the property.

  • Alcohol with the permission of Campsite Management.

  • No smoking inside the buildings.

  • The sheds, residence and surrounding private properties are 'out of bounds' areas.

Specialised Activities

  • The camp provides Specialised Activities including Flying Fox, Ropes Course, Trampoline, Kayaks, Swimming Pool etc. These areas are 'out of bounds' without the appropriately qualified leaders and Campsite Managers permission. It is the responsibility of the user group to provide adequately trained leaders for the activities undertaken.

Telephone (in Kitchen)

  • Campsite Management must be informed of all calls to emergency services.

Behaviour

  • Water fights, raids and unruly behaviour are not part of camp life and Group Leaders are asked to remind campers to respect our home, each other, and the campsite property & environment.
